    National Cadet Corps
    “Unity and Discipline”

    The National Cadet Corps (NCC) is the youth wing of the Indian Armed Forces with its headquarters in New Delhi, India. It is open to school and college students on voluntary basis as a Tri-Services Organisation, comprising the Army, the Navy and the Air Force. Cadets are given basic military training in small arms and drill. Officers and cadets have no liability for active military service once they complete their course.

    In KVDL Meerut, NCC is enrolled with the Army wing of UP 72 BN Meerut. A total of 50 cadets of our vidyalaya are enrolled in NCC. Out of total 50 cadets, 30 Junior Division (JD) boys and 20 Junior Wing (JW) girls of classes 8, 9 & 10 are enrolled in the NCC.

    Total training period for JD & JW is of 2 years. Every cadet of the Senior or Junior Division has to undergo service training for a period of at least 4 hours per week during the training year. Every cadet of the Senior and Junior Division has to undergo service training for a minimum period of 75% of total hours during the annual college and school session. Every cadet, in case of JD, who has completed one full year of training and is in his second year, attends an annual training camp of 9–10 days, also known as National Combined Annual Training Camp(ATC).

    SCOUT GUIDE ACTIVITIES IN KVDL MEERUT

    Scouts and Guides are an integral part of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangàthan. Bharat Scouts and Guides is a voluntary, non-political educational movement for young people and has been followed diligently in Kendriya Vidyalaya Dogra Lines Meerut.Scout and Guide activities provide a multifaceted platform for holistic development. These activities encompass a wide array of experiences, from outdoor adventures to community service projects, instilling valuable life skills and fostering a sense of camaraderie among students.

    Through camping trips, survival skills workshops, and orienteering exercises, students learn resilience, teamwork, and problem-solving in real-world scenarios. Additionally, engaging in activities like knot tying, fire building, and first aid training not only equips students with practical skills but also promotes a sense of self-reliance and preparedness. Furthermore, community service initiatives such as tree planting campaigns, awareness campaigns against social evils and volunteer work instill a sense of empathy and social responsibility in students, encouraging them to become active contributors to their communities.

    Scout and Guide activities also provide opportunities for leadership development, as students take on roles such as patrol leaders, event organizers, and mentors, learning to effectively communicate, delegate tasks, and inspire their peers. Moreover, participating in badge programs and merit badge challenges allows students to explore their interests, develop new hobbies, and earn recognition for their achievements.

    Beyond the tangible skills and accolades, Scout and Guide activities cultivate a sense of belonging and identity within the school community, fostering friendships and memories that last a lifetime. Overall, these activities play a crucial role in shaping well-rounded individuals who are equipped with the skills, values, and experiences needed to thrive in the world beyond the classroom.
