34-th Regional Level (Agra Region) Youth Parliament Competition 2023
Date of Event – 13 and 14 October 2023
Youth Parliament was held on 13th and 14th October 2023 at PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya Dogra Lines, Meerut Cantt, an excellent school under Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, Agra Division. There were 6 schools participating in the youth parliament. The programs of the participating schools were staged through a lottery in front of participants, teachers and officials present.
On the first day of the event (13/10/2023) at the entrance of the school, the chief guest Hon’ble Rajya Sabha MP Shri Vijay Pal Singh Tomar and former MLA Shri Ravindra Bhadana ji were welcomed by the Principal of the school Shri Suchitra Kumar Saxena, Assistant Commissioner of Agra Division Shri Rajkumar and other present officers, teachers and students. The program was inaugurated by lighting the lamp by the chief guest and special guest. This was followed by a welcome song by the students of the school. The special attraction Safarnama-e-Sansad vividly depicted the journey of Parliament from the past to the present.
In the welcome address, Principal Shri Suchitra Kumar Saxena expressed gratitude to the guests and participants for their presence in the school. The Chief Guest and Special Guest motivated the students in their address. The Assistant Commissioner in his address highlighted the number of Kendriya Vidyalayas included in Agra Division and their regional expansion. Media and press were present to cover the event.
Participants of Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 2 Hindon, Kendriya Vidyalaya Lalitpur and Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 1 Agra brought alive the Youth Parliament with their outstanding performance. On the first day, the jury included MLA Ravindra Bhadana, Assistant Commissioner Agra Division Shri Rajkumar, Principal of Kendriya Vidyalaya Punjab Lines Smt. Laxmi Singh and Principal of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sikh lines Shri Naval Singh.
The second and final day of the event (14/10/2023) was started by lighting the lamp by former MLA Shri Ravindra Bhadana, Deputy Commissioner of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan Agra Division Sh. Shaik Tajuddin, Assistant Commissioner Agra Division Shri Rajkumar , Principal KV Sikh Lines Shri Naval Singh and Principal KV Punjab Lines Smt. Laxmi Singh Ji. The guests were welcomed by Shri Suchitra Kumar Saxena Principal, PM Shri KV Dogra Lines. The students presented welcome songs and Durga Stuti through dance. Kendriya Vidyalaya Mathura Cantt, Kendriya Vidyalaya Babina Cantt, Jhansi and Kendriya Vidyalaya Kamla Nehru Nagar Ghaziabad brought life in the Youth Parliament once again .
On the second day of the competition, the jury included Deputy Commissioner, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, Agra Division, Assistant Commissioner, Principal KV Sikh Lines Shri Naval Singh.
In the concluding ceremony, Deputy Commissioner and Assistant Commissioner of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, Agra Division shared their experience of the program. Former MLA Shri Ravindra Bhadana motivated the students to prepare for a bright future. A vote of thanks was given by the Head Mistress of the school Mrs. Poonam Singh Verma for successfully conducting the program.
After this, the prize distribution ceremony was held. The jury declared Kendriya Vidyalaya Babina Cantt. as the first winner. The performance of all the participants of the participating schools was also highly commendable. The winning school was awarded the winner’s trophy and the participants were given a certificate of participation, the first and second prize in individual prizes was given to Ritul Jain and Asna Bhadoria of KV Babina Cantt, the third prize was given to Aastha of KV No. 2 Hindon . Special prizes were also distributed on the occasion.
Organizing Youth Parliament in Kendriya Vidyalayas is an important and creditable aspect which makes school life interesting and innovative. The event provides a pathway for students to understand about social and political systems and gives young people an opportunity to share their perspectives.

SCHOOL LEVEL YOUTH PARLIAMENT
The Youth Parliament is a recreation of the parliamentary proceedings of legislature and executive, based upon the Indian Parliamentary system. This event mimics the functioning of a real parliament, fostering leadership skills, civic awareness, and understanding of democratic principles among the students.
The aim of Youth Parliament is to acquaint the participants about the functioning of the parliament which primarily has three functions: representing the electorate, making laws, and overseeing the government. It is the place where legislators structure policies, frame laws, discuss and debate on issues that affect the lives of many.
Youth Parliament was held on 20 December, 2023 at PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya Dogra Lines, Meerut Cantt, an excellent school under Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, Agra Division. There were 56 studentss participating in the youth parliament.The students were all excited to show their talent and make others aware of the working of parliamentary system.
The event started with a welcome address by the Principal of the school Kendriya Vidyalaya Dogra Lines Meerut Cantt. Mr. Suchitra Kumar Saxena. 56 students under one roof prepared hard to present their best and were brilliant in performance. The Students brought life to the youth parliament by their extraordinary presentation. The students discussed social, educational and political issues and learnt to get engaged in the parliamentary-style debates, discussions, and decision-making processes.
The chief guest of the event was the Principal of the school Mr. Suchitra Kumar Saxena who motivated students to come out with flying colours. The event was judged by Vice Principal Ms. Neeru Pokhriyal , Ms. Uma Bhargava and Mr. Rajeev. The performance of all the participants of the participating schools was highly commendable. A vote of thanks was given by the Vice Principal of the school Mrs. Neeru Pokhriyal for successfully conducting the program.
